On Saturday, there will be special guest speaker as part of the Red Sea
Research Center seminar series. Hagen Schmid will make another visit to
KAUST to show another film from the award-winning series "Arabia: Sand,
Sea, & Sky" which has broadcast on National Geographic, Discovery
Channel, and the BBC. He will show the film titled "Eye of the Camel",
which highlights the strategies that plants and animals (and the
Bedouins) use to survive the harsh conditions of the "Empty Quarter" of
Saudi Arabia.
You can read more about the film at:

The film is approximately 55 minutes long and Hagen will be more than happy to answer questions following the film.
WHEN: Saturday, Nov 19, 5pm
WHERE: MPR room, Building 1
The MPR is on the entry level from the spine in Building 1 (not on the sea side of the building).
All are invited, please feel free to distribute. Some of you were able
to see Hagen present "The Mountain Barrier" from the same series last
year. It was a very enjoyable film and I am sure this one will be
equally interesting.
Hope to see you there!
