Aloha line dancers of Hawaii and Beyond. Today the Vegas Dance Explosion made an important announcement. I have copied and pasted it below:

After careful consideration and numerous conference calls, emails, meetings with Westgate, our dance floor and audio/visual Vendors, instructors and staff, as well as many other mitigating factors, we are excited to confirm that the 2020 Vegas Dance Explosion is a definite go!

We are willing and prepared to abide by all CDC, State of Nevada and Westgate Hotel mandated rules relating to Covid/19 safety for our dancers and staff.

We understand that these are very trying times for all of us and many of you who have already registered for this year’s event may certainly have health and safety concerns.
With that being said, upon request, we are extending the offer to credit your full 2020’s registration fee towards next year’s event on November 9-14, 2021.

Unfortunately we are not able to issue any refunds due to our contractual obligations with our Hotel, Convention Center and many vendors and suppliers.

We will also be limiting this year’s total attendance to no more than 500 dancers.

We will be extending our early bird registration discount until October 1, 2020.

As our state of affairs and current health climate changes daily, we will be diligent in updating our web site and Facebook page with future announcements from this date forward.

We look forward to seeing many of you in November!

Doug and Jackie

=======================================

This was my year to finally be on stage at a major event with top instructors from around the world with 1500 dancers.  I feel like I was just robbed of that opportunity with the attendees being dropped to 500.  While I am not fond of this decision, I feel that I must go as I don't know if I'll ever be invited to teach at another major line dance event in the future.  With that said I will still be going to fulfill my duty as a listed instructor from the choreography competition.  I will be going with my full passion for line dance and hope to represent our state well.

I know a lot of people from Hawaii will not be going, and it will not be easy for me to look into the crowd and not see all of my Hawaii supporters there.  Especially the supporters that have been with me every step of the way since my return.  It actually makes me sad thinking about it.  For those of you who are still going, please be sure to email me at tj...@hawaii.rr.com and let me know you are going so we can form a cohort (group) while we are in Vegas.  I would appreciate that very much.

If there is any other information that comes up I will let you all know!  Until then stay healthy and safe.

Aloha everyone,

Just sending out a reminder that if you have already purchased your registration for the VDE 2020 and have decided NOT to go. No refunds will be given but you can get your registration rolled over to the 2021 VDE which will happen November 9, 2021, to November 14, 2021. Be sure to email Doug & Jackie Miranda at bona...@aol.com to request the rollover.  They haven't given a deadline to request the rollover, so do it as soon as you can.  Be sure to give them the full name(s) that were given during the registration process.

If you made hotel reservations at the WestGate Resort & Casino, the cancellation policy for WestGate is 14 days prior to arrival. This means you have the opportunity to cancel your reservation between now and 14 days before your scheduled check-in date without a penalty. Should you cancel inside of the 14 days, you will lose your 1-night deposit. Contact the WestGate directly at 800.732.7117.

If additional information is received I will send that out as soon as possible.  Stay safe and be healthy!
