General Student Update:
We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas. We missed you guys on
Christmas day and were wishing we could do a Thanksgiving thing all
over again. I was stuck with Mark Swenson and his famous quotes: "Oh
here we go" and "Oh brother you big sissi". Kauai seems desolate with
all of the students away for break.
This e-mail is being sent to new students, students who are returning
and who are not returning. If some of the info does not apply to you
please just ignore it and enjoy the update.
At this point in the registration process, we have about as many
students as we had last semester prepared to attend this Spring. We
are praying for around 35 full time students, but can take a maximum
of 42 students. We are going to extend the "head hunting" discount to
all current Bible College students. If any of you have already
attended the Bible College in Kauai or at another campus and bring a
friend as a new student: each friend is worth a discount of $200 (16
friends attending will pay for your tuition). This discount can be
compounded with the other discounts like the PK, Homeschool, and MK
discount. Let us know if you need more info about this. We have
materials that you can pass out and pre-formatted e-mails that you can
send out to your friends.
We are finalizing the schedule. The last two classes I am trying to
confirm for this coming semester is the Apologetics class and the
Systematic Theology class. I met a pastor last night who might be
interested in teaching this Spring. He has been an educator for the
last 20 years and was very interested. Please keep this process in
prayer. We want to have the best teachers teaching the best classes.
We will post the schedule at the end of this week.
We will be adding four female interns to our ministry team as well as
Rachel being the Dean of Women. We are blessed to have these interns
serving with us for the Spring semester. They will allow us to be more
detailed in our academic standards and do a better job with caring for
the women's house.
We are updating the student guidelines as we get closer to this
semester. Some of you asked us to clarify particular parts of the
rules, and make a distinction between the rules for the women and for
the men. Check them out and if you have any comments or questions
please let me know.
I put up a new short promo video on the front page of the web site.
Please check it out, add your comments, and forward it to as many
people as possible. Billy and Amanda take on a cameo role very nicely.
I am also working on a Pastor Bob remix that I will post online this
coming week.
For all accepted students and returning students, the bed deposit is
due on January 5th. For all students who have not yet been accepted,
you just need to finish your application process so that we can
determine if we can accept you into the program.
The last big news that I have is Scott's chickens were trying to fly
out of the pen this last week because they did not have their wings
clipped before he left. As many of you know, I am a chicken when it
comes to chickens. I don't like handling farm animals all that much,
but I don't mind eating their eggs. So this week I had a trail of
chickens following me all of the camp because I was to afraid to pick
them up and put them back in the pen. Thank goodness they followed me
back over to the pen when I had to leave. I am not sure how long that
ministry will last as long as I am responsible for them.
We do miss all of you and love hearing about what God is doing in your
lives. We love praying for you and we are anticipating God's great
provisions on your behalf. Thank you for your friendship and we look
forward to seeing you again wether it be the Spring semester or a
later date.
May you win Christ and be found in Him,
Josh Turansky
