Hi Folks -
Some of you may remember me from the New Orleans trip. I was the long haired guy from Michigan who came on the trip with Dana Saxon. It was truly a pleasure to meet all of you, and to get to know those that I worked with. I believe everyones life if like a book that most people never get to read, so it was an honor to get to "read a few pages' of so many good books!
I'm writing you today to ask for some prayers for my nephew Wesley, as well as my sister Gabrielle and her whole family. Wes is 14 and was born with severe cerbral palsy. He has never spoken a word, walked a step, or enjoyed a mouth full of food. Caring for him has been an enormous physical and emotional challenge for my sister and her husband. Yet in spite of all that, this boy seems to bring the best our of everyone who meets him. He's got a million dollar smile
that lights up a room, even if we don't know what he's happy about.
Today, Wes will be in surgery for 10 hours to straighten his spine so that his lungs can function at least close to normally. Surviving and recovering from a surgery like this would be a challenge for even a healthy person. For someone in his condition who is so prone to complications, it's downright scary.
So if you think of it today and in the coming weeks, please keep him and his family in your prayers.
Thanks for being who you are, and for any prayers you can spare! I hope I get to see some of you when I am in town sometime.
Wishing you peace,
Charlie Tazzia
