Subject: Urgent Request: Possible Response - Louisville, KY
Samaritan’s Purse U.S. Disaster Relief is assessing the damage from flooding in the Louisville, KY area which occurred as a result of more than six inches of rain that fell in less than an hour this past week. Preliminary reports indicate there are 400 people requesting assistance and need help removing flooded debris from their homes. Once our assessment team gets on the ground, we will know more details about whether we will be responding in this area.
For now, please talk with members at your church and begin getting ready for the response. Check out our web site at www.samaritanspurse.org for the Volunteer Alert at the top of the page. This will indicate that we are responding to this storm and ready to schedule volunteers. Follow that link to register as an individual or to register your team.
As with our other responses, volunteers provide their own transportation to the site (for themselves and tools) then Samaritan’s Purse will take care of everything else including lodging, meals, and tools.
We are blessed to serve alongside you in ministering in the name of Jesus Christ.
