DungeonLords! Particularly if Jeremy can make it :-) Otherwise I'll
be trying to get Primordial Soup to the table again.

Hope to see you there!

At this point, I'm planning to make it on Tuesday.

I'm also planning to go to the FFG event center grand opening. I don't recall anyone else saying that they were going to go, so I'll let you guys know the "big announcement" when I get back. If anyone does make it, maybe I'll see you there. I'd offer to carpool, but I will be traveling with my wife and sons so I won't have any extra room.

Anyone up for some gaming next Saturday night or Sunday? TI3,
diplomacy, Dungeon Lords (I don't own it), Tales of Arabian Nights (I
don't own it)...

It would have to be at my place. My little boy and I are batchin' it
for the weekend.

Any of you guys are welcome (even though it has been a *long* time
since we've seen each other).

Tim... I'm not sure how you always pick weekends when my wife is on
call :-( She is changing departments in coming weeks which should
decrease her call load... so perhaps that will help!

Also, Gwen will be coming with me to game night this week! But she is
not interested in playing Dungeon Lords (sorry Jeremy) She would be
interested in playing Dominion if anyone is bringing it. Otherwise I
will have Primordial Soup and other wife friendly games avaialble to
choose from :-)

On the plus side, it sounds like we should have enough people at game
night that setting up Chaos in the Old World won't be in vain this
week Jonathan :-)

No Dungeon Lords? AAAAARGH!

That's alright. Some other time.

I just got back from the FFG event center. It is a very nice place for gaming, but I wonder just how much traffic it will see on an average day-to-day basis. It wasn't as full as I had expected it to be for the grand opening (there were a couple empty tables), and the crowd thinned out significantly after they announced the prizes.

The brand new game that they announced is called Battles of Westeros. It is a stand-alone game built on the Battle Lore system. However, they have "tweaked" the rules and such . I believe it is also thematically based on the same book (or series of books) as A Game of Thrones. I think Jake was into that game and the book(s) behind it, so he might be interested to know that they mentioned a future event that the author of said book(s) is going to be at.

That was the big news. They did a door prize drawing and gave away roughly 20 prizes. The prizes came out in bags, but I was standing close enough to look in the bags as they passed by (I didn't win anything). Each bag had a big box FF game in it. I specifically saw Tide of Iron, Starcraft, World of Warcraft, Chaos in the Old World, Middle Earth Quest, and Rune Wars. So they were pretty high value prizes.

They had a board and bits display case for Horus Heresey, which all looked very impressive and shiny. As I said, I didn't win anything, not even a chance to play Battles of Westeros or Horus Heresey. I did play my second ever game of Arkham Horror, and almost a full game of Rune Wars. We had to quit the game without finishing because it was already 1AM. We only had one "year" left and two of us had 5 rune stones. That was a good game, and I'd gladly give it another shot.

Alright, that's all I got. It was a fun place, you should check it out.

Hey! Thanks for the report! That does sound pretty neat. I'll have
to swing by and check it out sometime when I'm up that way. Our game
of Runewars was close right up to the end also. I imagine the game is
often won in that 6th year.

Sorry about the Dungeon Lords... Not even the cute imps could
pursuade Gwen that she would like a game it takes me 20 minutes to
explain :-(

The FF center has been "open" for a while now so I can see why they didn't have a huge turnout for the Grand Opening,
I'd love to give Battle Lore a shot sometime, maybe we can watch events going on up there and make a random game night out of it up there when they have some big thing going on.

Also convinced double play to get Long Shot in, yay really nasty horse racing type game.

I saw it on the shelf this weekend. Might you have an opened copy or
do we all just stare at it through the shrink wrap for a while? :-p

I was just loading up my bag for tonight. Zack mentioned that Gwen might be interested in Dominion... Is anyone planning to bring that? I can bring it, but I'd rather pack a different option if we're going to end up with multiple copies. I have to leave the house by around 4:30 for some other stuff before DP, so if I don't hear anything by then I'll just pack Dominion.

Hey Jeremy!

Thanks again for bringing Dominion. Gwen really enjoyed our game even
if she pretty much entirely forgot to buy any points... I might have
to get a copy of my own pretty soon :-)

For those that weren't there it was a stellar turnout. I think we had
16 people playing games at the high point and front desk John even
rustled us up a couple new players! Lots of Cash n Guns was played
(Greg had an 8 or 9 player free for all going in the middle...) and we
also saw Dominion, MagBlast, Chrononauts and Aquarius.

Good times at game night! Let's keep it growing!
