Ancient Rambles  - Dolphin’s Nightmare / Whale's Dream

An improvisation performance with dance, voice and text by Sylvain Meret and Maria Mavridou & music by Ben Roberts (cello)

A dance that celebrates what has always been there, from the very beginning. The hideous and the majestic, the lost and the wanderer, the eternal and the dissolved, when glimpses of nothingness, the eyes of love and the teeth of truth meet full of trust and wonder, ready to share their voices and gestures to whoever is ready to watch.

The Attic Studio is a domestic space on the fourth floor of my apartment. We will have wine and nibbles for the public by way of donation. Or you can bring your own drinks.

Reservation by email reservation only katied...@gmail.com 20 people max.

Katie Duck Sharon Smith (performance and creation) with Ben Roberts (cello)

"SKY"

A one hour real-time performance created and performed by Katie Duck (Amsterdam) and Sharon Smith (Devon), in collaboration with cellist Ben Roberts (Devon). Katie and Sharon are known for their previous piece “Abandon Human”. You can follow their duet collaborative work on their website “Katie Duck and Sharon Smith”

Performed with text, movement, live music and a film that fills the room with silent, slow moving images of skies. With a laptop in the space, Katie and Sharon develop their text challenging AI with questions: “What is nothing”? ”Do you have emotions”? “What happens when we die”? They explore ancient stories of skies in tandem and in company with our current cosmic confusion. Their correspondence results in a tender playful dialogue, gently funny, absurd, and not afraid of the dark.
