Sue Taylor and her partner Al have lived in Nepal for several years and have long dreamed of exploring the Great Himalayan Trail by mountain bike. The route they chose has been completed many times on foot, but they know of only one other group who have attempted it by bike. In October 2017, they set off for the Far West to begin their adventure.
In this talk, Sue tells of their experiences biking nearly 400 km over rugged and rough terrain, and climbing more than the height of Everest on their supposedly ‘flat’ route! This was an exciting trip, where they met many lovely people, saw amazing views, and experienced the culture and customs of this beautiful but remote part of Nepal. We look forward to seeing you at the lecture! |
