Hello everyone!

Am saying sorry in advance, but I am kind of desperate right now, so I
will just ask here as well. Problem is, I am working in a small Nepali
Company involved in Micro Hydro Power. Today we kinda realized that
there is no way of me getting a work visa via them due to the
financial side, so I would have to leave Nepal in end of May, which I
dont want at all.
Does by any chance any of you guys know someone who works with a
bigger organisation involved in "engineering", and who could be
interested in a 3-month intern? As much as I would like to stay in a
Nepali company, I think I can rule out that possibility because of the
visa trouble that comes with employing a foreigner. I am not looking
to earn a lot of money, basically I am really searching for a way to
stay some time longer, and if i happen to do a useful work than I
would be glad of course. Got a bachelor's degree in Physical
Engineering, which very much resembles Mechanical Engineering, but is
a bit broader, and working experience with Siemens Bosch Home
Appliances and now Micro Hydro Energy.
This of course will only work if the company/organization has better
ways of getting its employees a work visa. A tourist visa (which I am
afraid most interns are working on) wont work for me.

Alright, I hope you got what I was trying to say. Feel a bit dizzy...
And I hope you dont mind me misusing this group too much.

Thanks and have a good night!
Adrian

Dear Adrian,

I suppose engineering jobs in Afghanistan are not really what you are
after. I hope it works out for you. I have heard that it is important
not to lose your passport as that is the only record of your length of
stay and once you have a new one you have to start counting all over
again. It would be terribly inconvenient at the least.

Best,

Douglass

Hey there.

Well, was thinking about other countries as well for a second... :)
A freind told me, I'd have to leave Nepal to lose my passport,
otherwise they'd want to know when i came to look me up in those big
piles of paper they've got. That'd take two months though, so I ruled
that out, and just wrote an innocent mail to the German embassy, trying
to figure out what would happen if I lost it here. And in the meantime
preparing my study visa.

Say, shouldnt you be coming back in a month or something? Fells like you
are gone forever already! ;) How's Afghanistan treating you? All good?

See you then!

I'll be back for a week, arriving Thursday. Glad to hear that you have some alternate plans.
