Dear all,

I would like to invite you to join  Shivapuri Hiking from Budhanilkanta  on coming Saturday (June 18, 2011).  As we don't know what the weather is going to be and I guess it’s the safest and easiest route with teashops along the way up.  I am happy to guide  this trip voluntarily:-). .

Meeting Venues and time: Shivapuri National Park Gate at  7:00 sharp. Parking facility available.

Tentative Time: It takes 5 hours  to climb up and 2 and half  hours to come down.

Remember to bring: Some money for entry fee , Packing food/Fruits, Water bottles, Raincoat/Umbrella, Camera, Binocular, Comfortable Boot, Hat, Sun cream etc.  This is the eco-friendly hiking so please choose your stuffs environmental friendly to leave less ecological foot print.

Highly appreciated your kind confirmation at 9841209328 or arjun....@gmail.com

Regards,

arjun

I am interested to join as well arjun ji. perhaps we have never have met before. It takes 3 hrs for Sihivapuri peak if you choose left track from the Entrance. and if you choose shortest route to get down from other side and walk down one hr you will be already at Ani gumba. I have been there for several times. c u.

Arjun,

I do not recommend the route that Prem suggested. It is a steep and
unrelenting climb up a very long staircase, much of it without good
tree cover. I have hiked the Annapurna Circuit, and this route up
Shivapuri remains one of the most challenging hikes I have done -
mostly for the mental exhaustion caused by so many stairs. Given the
heat and sun, I suggest you take the route via the gompa - I have
heard it is much more pleasant.

Best,

Claudine

Dear Arjun,

my colleague Stephanie and I would like to join this coming Saturday. We will leave Sanepa no later than 6.30 to be at the Gate at 7 am.

Perhaps what Claudine suggests is better (hiking via the Gompa?) I have done part of that road once. Instead of going all the way up, we went to the Gompa and then down on a very nice ridge all the way back to Boddha. This was also a very nice walk and perhaps an option to consider. But I am willing to go to the Summit as well...

see you

Julie

Prem, Claudine, Julie and Stephanie,
Thank you for your confirmation. Considering the other colleagues, I also
suggest to climb via Gumba. I went the same route few weeks ago. It's really
pleasant. While returning from the summit, we can choose the route as Prem
suggested. There is an alternative way in near before reaching Gumba which
has some staircase but pleasant.

Hoping to see you there on Saturday morning.

Regards,
arjun

Dear friends,

Thank you for joining us in Shivapuri Hiking yesterday. Wonderful memories, indeed.

Due to the rain in the early morning, some of the confirmed colleagues could not join in team. Luckily, weather  was only cloudy and pleasant for hiking after 8 am.

Hoping to see you in next time.

Regards,

Arjun
