I have not been in Kathmandu for several years. I do not think that this particular group is still active but there should be one that has taken its place....or start a hiking group yourself...best of luck...Frank

Hi its not particularly active but its neither inactive since the notifications still seem to work…..

I run a small home-stay-style B&B property in the hills near to Bhudanilkantha (north side of the valley) and we offer short “walk and lunch” and also “walk in the park” programmes.  Our property is on on the edge of the Shivapuri National Park and so provides lots of opportunitys for short hikes etc.

The walks can be booked on any day or as part of your overnight stay.  The cost is around US$ 25.00 per person including lunch (either a packed lunch or lunch on our terrace depending on the length of the hike).

On Friday 29th September I am arranging a 5 or so hour or so hike from our Cottage to the Namkha Monastery and then up to dadagaun village and then through the National Park and back to our Cottage.  The cost is Rs 2500 per person including a packed lunch.  The National Park fee of Rs 565 is payable as extra directly to the park.   You might also like to consider spending the night at the Cottage and the price is Rs 4500 per person inclusive of dinner and breakfast.
