The practice itself, done consistently and accurately, is the real teacher."

–Tim Miller, Senior Ashtanga Yoga Teacher, Carlsbad, CA

Dear Friends-

We just got back from teaching our first teacher training in Kansas City and are very excited to begin subbing the Maha Yoga Mysore Ashtanga program for our teacher Jorgen, beginning tomorrow, Sunday Aug 10th,  through the end of August.

The Mysore program is every morning, Sun-Friday, from 7-9am.  (No Mysore classes on Saturdays and new and full moon days.)

We will help teach you the primary and second series of Ashtanga yoga at your own level and pace....
Wade and I met in this class and have been practicing mysore daily for the last year together and just feel it is the BEST way to cultivate a self practice, while continuing to grow with the aid of a teacher.

We are also still teaching our Saturday Maha vinyasa class at 5:45-7:15pm.  (We are no longer teaching at the SM Zen Center.)

There are still a few spots available for our Mexico Yoga Retreat!  Sign up before September 15th and you will still get the early registration price. Click here for details!

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you soon!

Love Kathleen and Wade

Mysore Style Ashtanga: All Levels Welcome!
Mysore is a city in the south of India (see map) where Ashtanga yoga has been taught by  Sri K. Pattabhi Jois since the 1930's. This traditional Mysore style is taught silently and has students learn postures in a fixed order using a special movement-breathing technique called vinyasa. The vinyasa links the postures together in the dance of the breath.  Postures are given one at a time, by the teacher, so each student is given their practice according to their ability. Since each posture is designed to prepare you for the rest of the series, beginners tend to have a much shorter practice than more experienced students. As they gain strength, stamina, flexibility and concentration, additional postures are given to the student.
