Doing freelance photography as an expat

Hi all,

I'm thinking about moving to Tanzania in a few months and want to try and get into NGO photography. I'm currently doing an internship in Ethiopia, there's plenty of opportunity here but unfortunately it's far too difficult to get work permits etc. I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the process in Tanzania? Is it difficult to get a work permit? If it's not possible to get paid employment would it be possible to volunteer as a photographer for NGOs?
