Minutes of the Meeting on Feb 24, 2008 at Kashmir Bhavan,
Sterling City, Bopal, Ahmedabad

The meeting was attended by M/s Opinder Dhar (Dr.), Tejkishen Kachru,
Hiralal Khar, Avtar Kishen Ogra, Ramesh Dhar, Shibankishen
Mattoo(Dr.), SK Khazanchi, Kuldeep Kaul, Kuldeep Dhar, Vikas Nakaib,
Avtar Krishan Kaul, Khazanchi

Issues discussed:
1. Preparation of a Address Directory along with an extended
information on the family, occupation, interest areas, hobbies and the
Kashmir Valley origins. The entire job will be programmed and handled
by Shri AK Ogra. Funds for printing the directory will be mobilized by
Shri TK Kachru in form of sponsors. Printing will be handled by AK
Kaul. Agreed.

2. Navreh will be celebrated at the Kashmir Bhavan on April 6, 2008
culminating with a contributory community Dinner. Agreed

3. Accounts of the Koshur Samchar & the Kashmir Bhavan Trust will be
streamlined, reorganised, regularized and audited as stipulated in
Society & Trust laws help and taking professional advice. Shri AK
Ogra will guide/oversee this operation. Agreed

4. Annual Havan of the year 2009 will be organised on 31st. January
(Basant Panchmi) day 2009. Also mooted was a suggestion to organise
Silver Jubilee of Koshur Samchar, successful completion of the Koshur
Samchar in Ahmedabad. Modalities to be worked out later. Agreed

5. Extended Executive Committee will meet every month on 1st Sunday of
every month to review the works under way, monitor funds and resources
and other day to day activities. Agreed

6. Kashmiri Vijeshwar Jantri distribution will happen on a day after
Shivratri (Heerat). Informal distribution in person along with Heerat
Mubarrak. Agreed

7. Funds mobilization for the Bhavan Construction...discussed...and under
discussion.

8. Need for a BSNL Phone Connection for the Bhavan....under discussion

9. Need for a Library and an information Kiosk at the Bhavan...under
discussion

10. Links with other Kashmiri Samities in Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad,
Indore, Bangalore, Pune, Jammu, AIKS and other Kashmiri representative
bodies to be revived to contribution to their Monthly Patrika's,
action to be initiated...!

11. Revive a Monthly or a Bi-monthly Patrika...under discussion



Suggestions and comments by Prof A. K. Ogra:
To facilitate and also expedite some points that seems to have missed
attention and record need to be viewed in proper perspective:
1. Let us use the term A for agenda point and D for Decision
2. A: The trust deed and society deed formed earlier will be
discussed with a legal consultant: Shri RC Patel. Tel no: 9898557580
Ref. Mr. Mallav Ajmera CA.
3. D- A meeting to be immediately arranged with the consultant for
Section 80 G and any other compliances that may be required viz. , PAN
Number for both and regular filing of the Returns.
4. A2 Copy of Society Rules and Regulations
5. D Shri Kachru will provide the necessary help
6. A3 NRI Contacts to be activated.
7. D A well drafted letter must be drafted to all concerned for a
future vision of establishing Schools, Colleges, and Professional
Colleges etc.
8. A4-Start coordination with other all India & worldwide Kashmiri
organisations/Societies for contact, co-operation and co-ordination.
9. Preparing a yearlong calendar of events and activities
10. Donors roll of honour to be displayed
11. Extending Shivratri greetings to all the members
12. D- It was agreed to start a newsletter initially on a quarterly
basis. Mr. JK Wanchoo of F54 Sachin Towers, 100 Ft. Road has agreed to

13. D--it was decided to initiate the preparation of holistic Directory
of the Kashmiri Pandits residing in Gujarat. Shri Vivek OGRA AND AK
Kaul to coordinate and get it going in a methodical way, utilizing the
state f the art software's.
14. D It was decided that M/s AK Kaul, Tej Kachru. SK Khazanchi & HL
Khar will compile links and circulate to all members of the Biradari.
15. A12-Fund-Raizing to be taken on a war footing for the Bhavan
Nirman.
16. Creation of further trusts under the names...Vitasta, Satisar etc to
be considered.
17. A14 All members to be requested to devote some time to Samchar's
development activities for a noble cause.
