Truth Behind Mullai Periyar Dam - Pass to All

Edukki dam was built in order to produce hydro electric power,but they are not getting enough water because of the Mullai Periyar Dam,so they are spreading rumors of Dam Safety.

For the People who are shouting for the safety of people,here are some figures

... Mullai Periyar Dam was built between 1887-1895 and was strengthened between 1981-1994.And now the dam is very safe.There is no point to panic.

Capacity of Mullai-Periyar Dam :15.66 TMC (Maximum Safety level 152 feet)
Capacity of Edukki Dam :70.50 TMC
Above the Sea level,
Mullai Periyar dam-2709 ft
Edukki Dam-1853
The Distance Between both the dams :45 KM
within the 4 hrs the entire water from Mullai Periyar dam will reach the Edukki dam.. So it wont affect the live of the ppl staying near the dam
So people just think and read the history before you shout...
We are asking our rights..
South TamilNadu will get water only if water is stored more than 104 feet in the
Mullai-Periyar Dam.Now we are storing the water up to 136 feet.
Kerala Government is telling they will demolish this dam and they will built a new dam and they are promising that they will provide the same amount of water which we are getting now.
But its not possible...
Because of the location they choosed for the New Dam,we will get water only if they stored the water is above 150 feet in the new dam.But the proposed height of the dam is 140 feet.
So its our right to save our dam..(from -PremKumar Sachidanandam)
