Dear Amma's Children,
Jai Karunamayi!
Jai Sairam!

On September 24, with the grace and blessing of Amma, we had our monthly Narayana Seva at My Sister's House on Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, a shelter serving women and children, and the restoration house.

We prepared meals to serve about 350 women and children who live in these two shelters. The dinner consisted of vegetarian chili, delicious vegetarian pasta, macaroni and cheese for the kids (actually adults cannot resist the temptation as well), healthy green salad, dinner rolls, bananas, and candies. We also served more chocolate filled biscuits to everyone thanks to Shailee!

Several of Amma's devotees make this dinner service possible. Diaha Lewis and Megha Vallamsetla made monetary contribution towards the dinner service this month and many others including Sai Devdutta, Alexander Balick, Phani Tummala, Alok Makam, Vinoda Makam, Purna Chadalawada and Sridaran have been making recurring monthly contributions to enable us to do this important community service. Jaini (with delivery help from Arif) made a lovely colorful salad which was big hit with the residents and the volunteers; Vasanthi (stepping up for Carol who was not well) made everyone's favorite Mac&Cheese; Sundray (with supplies partly provided by Devi) made all the veggie pasta; Hemant donated the bananas; Vasanthi and Kishore made the veggie 3-bean chili; Kishore bought all the supplies.

It was in-person service this month as this will be the norm going forward.  Sundray and Kishore were on hand at the shelter to serve the hot dinner to the residents and the children; they were helped by Lily, Samantha, and Samara - volunteers who showed up at the shelter.  It is a tight time window for serving two batches of back-to-back dinner service (one for the adult women, and one for the mother and children).  So at least 5 people are needed to make the service swift and efficient.  The residents loved all the food that was made with so much love by Amma's devotees.

Enjoy the pictures!
