Dear Amma's Children,
Jai Karunamayi!
Jai Sairam!

On December 16, with the grace and blessing of Amma, we had our monthly Narayana Seva at My Sister's House on Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, a shelter serving women and children, and the restoration house.

We prepared meals to serve about 350 women and children who live in these two shelters. The dinner consisted of vegetarian chili, delicious vegetarian pasta, macaroni and cheese for the kids, healthy green salad, dinner rolls, candies, and bananas.

As a special treat for the Holidays, Shanmugam brought cupcakes to give to all the residents.  They loved it, especially the kids.

Also Arif brought special macaroons and distributed them to enliven the residents, a hit with the adult members of the shelter.

Several of Amma's devotees make this dinner service possible.  Rema Kumar, Alexander Balick, Phani Tummala, and Sridaran made monetary contributions towards the dinner service and many others have been making recurring monthly contributions to enable us to do this important community service. Jaishree and Seema made the colorful salad; Carol & Mary Ann made everyone's favorite Mac&Cheese and Mary Ann delivered it to the shelter; Anu and Jainee made the amazing veggie pasta and brought them to the shelter to serve the residents themselves; Vasanthi and Kishore made the veggie 3-bean chili (with all the supplies provided by Shanmugam and Uma); Kishore bought the other supplies, and brought them to the shelter.

It was in-person service this month as this will be the norm going forward.  Arif, Jainee, Anu, Hema, Shanmugam, and I were on hand at the shelter to serve the hot dinner to the residents and the children.  It was a great dinner service and having all the help made it possible to keep the line moving quickly.  It is a tight time window for serving two batches of back-to-back dinner service (one for the adult women, and one for the mother and children).  So at least 5 people are needed to make the service swift and efficient.  The residents loved all the food that was made with so much love by Amma's devotees.  The residents thoroughly enjoyed the dinner as always.  We served them seconds and thirds until we ran out of food!!
