Dear Amma's children,
Jai Karunamayi!
Jai Sairam!

With Amma's grace and blessing, this month's narayana seva at “My Sister's House” located on Howell Mill road is scheduled for this coming Wednesday July 23. It is a shelter for women and children, and we will be able to serve about 250 women and children.  We are also providing additional meals every month for their newly opened overflow women shelter called "Restoration House".

The dinner service starts promptly at 5:00 PM and ends around 7 PM. We will be serving a Hot Pasta meal, Vegetarian Chili, Mac and Cheese, salad, bread rolls, banana, and candies.

As always, it is the lovely help we get from the community that we are able to do this service every month.  If you want to get involved in any way (making pasta or mac&cheese dinner, salad, help with purchases) please send me an e-mail.

You can also monetarily help to defray the cost of the purchases through tax-deductible cash contributions.  You can make the check payable to:
   SRIM CENTER
   (memo section: Monthly Narayana Seva)
and send it to my home address:
   Attn: Kishore Ramachandran
   285 Blue Spruce Trl

We welcome any volunteers who would like to come and help serve the dinner every month.  Being a women and children shelter, they are necessarily ultra careful on screening the volunteers.

If you would like to come and help serve, registration is required.  Please register by going to the website and following the directions:

Thank you,
Jai Karunamayi!

Dear Amma's Children,
Jai Karunamayi!
Jai Sairam!

On July 23, with the grace and blessing of Amma, we had our monthly Narayana Seva at My Sister's House on Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, a shelter serving women and children, and the restoration house.

We prepared meals to serve about 350 women and children who live in these two shelters. The dinner consisted of vegetarian chili, delicious vegetarian pasta, macaroni and cheese for the kids (actually adults cannot resist the temptation as well), healthy green salad, dinner rolls, bananas, and candies.

Several of Amma's devotees make this dinner service possible. Michael Mill made monetary contributions towards the dinner service this month and many others including Alexander Balick, Phani Tummala, Alok Makam, Vinoda Makam, Purna Chadalawada and Sridaran have been making recurring monthly contributions to enable us to do this important community service. Jaishree and Seema made a lovely colorful salad; Carol made everyone's favorite Mac&Cheese and delivered it to the shelter; Jainee and Sundray (with supplies partly provided by Devi) made the veggie pasta; an anonymous donor provided bananas; Vasanthi and Kishore made the veggie 3-bean chili; Kishore bought all the supplies.

It was in-person service this month as this will be the norm going forward.  Sundray, Vasanthi, and I were on hand at the shelter to serve hot dinner to the residents and the children.  Finley (a volunteer) made it possible to keep the line moving.  It is a tight time window for serving two batches of back-to-back dinner service (one for the adult women, and one for the mother and children).  So at least 5 people are needed to make the service swift and efficient.  The residents loved all the food that was made with so much love by Amma's devotees.

Enjoy the pictures!
