On July 24, with the grace and blessing of Amma, we had our monthly Narayana Seva at My Sister's House on Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, a shelter serving women and children, and the restoration house.
We prepared meals to serve about 350 women and children who live in these two shelters. The dinner consisted of vegetarian chili, delicious vegetarian pasta, macaroni and cheese for the kids, healthy green salad, dinner rolls, candies, and bananas.
Several of Amma's devotees make this dinner service possible. Alexander Balick, Phani Tummala, Sridaran, and a Shirdi Saibaba devotee group led by Srinivasa Rao made monetary contributions towards the dinner service and many others have been making recurring monthly contributions to enable us to do this important community service. Carol made everyone's favorite Mac&Cheese and delivered it to the shelter; Sundray (with some supplies provided partly by Devi) made the amazing veggie pasta; Anu and Anil made the delicious and colorful salad and also bought all the supplies (dinner plates, dinner rolls, candy, etc.); Vasanthi and Kishore made the veggie 3-bean chili; Kishore bought the bananas, and collected the food and brought them to the shelter.

It was in-person service this month as this will be the norm going forward. Anu and Anil and their son Nirav, Nirav's wife Nupur, and I were on hand at the shelter to serve the hot dinner to the residents and the children. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the dinner as always. Usually they pass on the salad but not today...the residents gobbled up the salad with relish. Kudos to Anu and Anil! I am getting the recipe from her to pass it on anyone else that wants to make it next time!
