Dear Amma's Children,
Jai Karunamayi!
Jai Sairam!
On August 23, with the grace and blessing of Amma, we had our monthly Narayana Seva at My Sister's House on Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, a shelter serving women and children. This was a "no contact delivery only" dinner service and several of Amma's devotees came together to make this possible. Given the unprecedented times we live in it is only Amma's grace that made it possible for us to accomplish this seva.
Thanks to the lovely help from our wonderful group of volunteers, we are now including an extra 100 meals for meeting the additional need for the homeless women housed in the newly opened Restoration House of the Atlanta Mission. We were able to serve about 350 meals to women and children who live in these two shelters. The dinner consisted of vegetarian chili, delicious vegetarian pasta, macaroni and cheese for the kids, healthy green salad, dinner rolls, bananas, candy, and water.
Sundray (with supplies provided by Devi) and Saraswathy made the veggie pasta; Jainee (with delivery assist by Arif) made everyone’s favorite mac&cheese; Vasanthi and Kishore (subbing for Jaishree) made the green salad; Shalini and Sunil made the vegetarian chili; Hemant bought the bananas.
Nandini Bandari (and her mother Mrs. Bandari) procured all the dinner items (candy, rolls, water, etc.), and delivered them to the shelter. Hemant collected the salad, chili and pasta from the cooking team, and delivered them to the shelter.
Alexander Balick, Phani Tummala, Hyma Mikkilineni, and Sridaran made monetary contributions towards the dinner service and many others have been making recurring monthly contributions to enable us to do this important community service.
Enjoy the pictures!
