Dear Friends,
I am writing to invite you to participate in the celebrations of Nrisimha Caturdasi festival.
A festival will be held on Sunday 6th May from 2pm-5pm at Karuna Bhavan with bhajans, discourses, arati and prasadam feast.
Lord Nrsimhadeva, the half man, half lion avatar of Lord Krishna, came to protect his great devotee, Prahlada. Nrsimhadeva outwitted the demon Hiranyakashipu, who thought that he had been blessed to never die under any circumstance. The Lord’s appearance shows us that the soul can never outwit God – even when that soul has been blessed to become the most powerful among the living entities!
As bhakta vatsala, protector of the devotees, Lord Nrsimhadeva is specifically prayed to in order to maintain us and protect us from the influences of maya (illusion) and the effects of the present age of Kali (age of quarrel and hypocrisy).
In the Bhagavad-gita, Lord Krishna explains the vision of such a great devotee as Prahlada:
“For one who sees Me everywhere, and sees everything in Me; I am never lost to Him, and he is never lost to Me.”
I look forward to seeing you and hope this meets you in good health and happy Krsna consciousness.
