If you are regularly processing multi-view content in Fusion Studio or the DaVinci Resolve Fusion page, you will likely enjoy the efficiency boost of switching your compositing approach from using several chained together "Merge" nodes over to the elegance of the "MultiMerge" node that was added to Resolve/Fusion v18.5+.

The MultiMerge node creates something similar to a "layer stack" that allows you to keep on connecting your media via dynamically created input connections. In the Inspector window you can control the layer visibility and the transform/blending settings.

To help make the process of using the MultiMerge node smoother, I created a new "MultiMerge Selected" script that is now available in the Reactor Package Manager's "Scripts/Comp" category.

This Lua script inserts a new MultiMerge node into the comp and auto-connects the selected nodes as input connections.

Script Usage:
Simply select your footage in the Fusion page "Nodes" view area.

Then run the "MultiMerge Selected" comp script from the "Workspaces -> Scripts -> MultiMerge Selected" menu in DaVinci Resolve.

The script has an option to automatically name the MultiMerge layers based upon the name of the connected nodes. You can also control the order that the layers are created in the script's dialog.

3. The script starts by adding a MultiMerge node to the comp, and connects the footage to the input connections. Then the script automatically names the items in the MultiMerge node's layer list.
