I am also following Nick Brazzi's video and doing fine up until the 11 minute mark when I switch to Anaglyph view.

I have attached two screenshots. One shows after applying the STMap that there appears to be an error with the equirectangular calculation. The 2nd shows the that when I switch to Anaglyph view it stretches the image across the frame rather than showing the two squares overlaid.

I can change the view to square if I change my image scaling settings in project settings but this does not match what Nick was doing in his video and means I would have to switch back and forth for each shot to set my convergence.

I also included a screenshot of all the Kartaverse packages I currently have installed as this was also different for me than what Nick showed in the video, in case that is relevant.

I am using the generic ST map but I could work on a custom one if that is causing any issues.

Any help would be appreciated and thank you Andrew and Nick for providing this amazing resource!

Hi Ammon,

Was your media filmed on a Canon R5C camera body?

What is the resolution of your source footage? If your source footage is at 8192x4096 px resolution for example, then you would need to use a modified STmap that matches the aspect ratio of the dual fisheye media in use since each resolution has a slightly different cropping/framing of the fisheye image circles.

Andrew, I filmed on the R5C with the 5.2mm Dual Fisheye Lens in Canon Raw. The resolution of the footage is 8192x4320 and I set the timeline format to 8640x4320 (all the same as Nick's example, I believe). See attached image for all that info.

You are so kind to help with this! If you have a link to donate to support your work, please share and I'm happy to contribute.

Hi Ammon,

Thanks for the details. It's getting late here so I will look into the information you have shared and see if I can come up with a more meaningful reply tomorrow.

One thing I feel I should comment is that the most satisfying way to tune stereo 3D effects and convergence is with an HMD connected. TBH I had expected that BMD would have already shipped improved HMD connectivity options in Resolve Studio as a result of their partnership with Apple on immersive. But we haven't seen that arrive (yet).

Currently the best options we have for real-time in-context Resolve Edit/Color page review of VR180/VR360 content is through the use of the Time & Pixels "Nobe Display NDI" OpenFX plugin. Then one would use an NDI compatible VR tool such as LightsailVR's VR.NDI program on Windows, or the VR.NDI Untethered app on a Meta Quest 3S HMD. Additionally, there are several options for NDI compatible VR apps on Apple Vision Pro HMDs, too.

Andrew Hazelden

Yes, I went to NAB and spoke with the Blackmagic reps expecting Resolve 20 to include those tools. They told me they built a special version of Resolve 19 that you get a copy of only if you buy the Blackmagic Immersive camera.  They also made it pretty clear that monitoring on the Vision Pro was in the works but did not seem to be coming any time soon.

Which is why I'm trying out your tool to see if I can find a good workflow that does not involve Mistika VR.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to look into options for HMD monitoring.
