Si vous pouviez changer une chose au sujet de Karotz (apparence, API,
fonctionnalités, etc) quelle serait-elle?

If you could change one thing about Karotz (appearance, API, features,
etc.) what would it be?

I would make the API work properly.

If you could change one thing about Karotz (appearance, API, features,
etc.) what would it be?

One thing only? :-)

I'd:

  • make the API work (again)
  • DOCUMENT it properly
  • communicate with the developers (who are supposed to write apps that could the SOLD!)
  • enable the customers/developers to communicate directly with the rabbit
  • invest in updates, not website cosmetics

And if you ask for one thing only, maybe that'd boil down to:

I'd support the developers properly, since their spare-time efforts are crucial for the success of my product.

Best wishes,

Marcus

One thing : make the Karotz runnable on local LAN without broadband connection

This point can actually be done, I've put an extract of the proto file used to communicate directly with Karotz on port 9123.  The proto file is on the wiki(if still there). Since the proto
file is for the google protobuf compiler, you can then compile the messages serializer to alot of different laguages (pyhton, java already included in karorzvm see Client class, C++ natively from google, and alot more from thrird parties)

  • invest in updates, not website cosmetics

I agree tho that I would not only change one thing but manty, like support, doc (on actual api and direct communication), direct access to the internal os of karotz (ubuntu arm) so we can debug some problems, get more feedback when errors, and the list goes on...

Already possible on port 9123(that's how the karotz vm work). See the proto file on the wiki to use with the google protobuf compiler.

Yes, I know, but it's really hard for any noob who buy the Karotz (not really noob, but not able to handle this google protobuf with an easy way.

Anyway, without broadband connection, is this method able to make some TTS or to make some speach recognition ? I think "no" because of those functions are not embeded into the rabbit but into the Violet servers. Is this method able to make the rabbit "sleep" or "wake up" on demand (and not on sheduled hours).

This is useless for me at this time.

All I want is a Karotz which can work alone, without the Violet servers and "out of the box", without big knowledges.

I am now doing TTS by using google translate instead, the voice and flow of words from that is much better than the original. Plus you can make it do way more languages, just notice that you have to add a 0.5s delay in the front, and 1.0 second in the end of the files...

Off-topic here, but could you share some examples/documentation? I use GoogleTTS for Nabaztag and the german voice is just horrible...

We can continue the TTS stuff there to not destroy this topic :)

Have you foud any solutions about your request ?

Is there an example that use this solution ?
=> Already possible on port 9123(that's how the karotz vm work)
