Dear Friends:

Recently, there was a personal discussion about a kriti in
Mayamalawagowla whose Pallavi starts as "Rakshimapve Rajathagiri
Nilaya". It was attributed to Thyagaraja and some expressed doubt.
Here is the gist of the discussion:

The kriti is not listed in several well known books, such as those of
TKGovindarao, C Ramanujachari & V Raghavan, Kalluri Veerabhadra
Sastry. (I had mistakenly thought it was in TKGovindarao's book -
sorry about that mistake). Kiranavali mentioned that it was also not
there in a book by Parthasarathy (? I did not get the details of the
book).

However, the kriti is listed in a recent book titled "The Complete
Works of Sri Thyagaraja" by Maddali Venkata Subbayya, in Telugu
Sacript, with English Transliteration and English Translation, Icfai
University Press, Hyderabad, India, 2008.
It was also rendered by M Balamuralikrishna in a recent recording and
listed as Thyagaraja kriti.

Does anyone have any other reason to either think that it is
Thyagaraja kriti or not? I would appreciate any insights.

Regards
Prabhakar
