Students in Karnali zone can now stop worrying about not being able to
afford to buy textbooks, as the government will be providing them for
free from coming year (2063 BS).

The government made the decision to provide free textbooks to first to
tenth grade students, keeping in mind the decreasing quality of
education in the region mainly due to students' inability to afford
textbooks.

According to Chief of Sajha Publications-Nepalgunj, Hem Jung Malla, the
publications' seasonal depots have already been set up with employees
in Mugu, Dolpa and Kalikot districts with textbooks for classes one to
five. Similarly, local agents of the publications in the districts have
also already started distributing them.
