DEVELOPING YOUR MANAGEMENT POTENTIAL WORKSHOPS I & II

CAPE TOWN - 15 & 16 FEBRUARY 2011

 

Each workshop runs for a full-day. Learners can attend one or both workshops. All registration forms and payments must be received by Friday 11 Feb 2011. No walk-in registrations will be accepted. Please communicate with us if your registration is late. A 10% surcharge applies to late registrations and payments.

 

DEVELOPING YOUR MANAGEMENT POTENTIAL WORKSHOP I (DMPW I)

This is a one-day workshop. SAQA Unit Standards 15231 & 114884 indicate the content of the workshop. We strive towards the necessary requirements for the unit standards.

 

DMPW 1 Aim:                                                                                                                                               

To educate supervisors, junior and middle management on the basic requirements of good management.

 

DMPW 1 Contents:

-          What are the qualities of a good manager?

-          Getting to know and understand people!

-          Making the transition from worker to manager

-          Understanding the responsibility and possible consequences

-          Understanding your own role in the organisation

-          Understanding your management style: strengths and weaknesses

-          Is your approach holistic or cellular?

-          Setting clear goals and standards for your department

-          Verbalising, quantifying and communicating

-          Delegating and empowering

-          Communication and staff development

-          Making time for employees

-          How to get the best out of your employees

-          Dealing with resistance to change

-          Quick fix or long-term

 

DMPW 1 Outcome:

Learners will be able to set goals and standards, empower other staff, grow in their own positions and recognise the value of a team.

 

DEVELOPING YOUR MANAGEMENT POTENTIAL WORKSHOP II (DMPW II)

This is a one-day workshop. SAQA Unit Standard 114943 indicates the content of the workshop. We strive towards the necessary requirements for the unit standard.

 

DMPW 2 Aim:

To further assist managers in their role as developers and leaders of a department and/or company, concentrating on more specific tools of measurement and methodologies.

 

DMPW 2 Contents:

-          8 common themes of successful companies/departments

-          Using the conscious and unconscious learning matrix

-          Using the SWOT matrix

-          Company values and ethics in decision making

-          Using the force field analysis

-          Using the JOHARI window

-          Using situational leadership

-          Using feedback to its greatest advantage

-          Encouraging a culture of growth and learning

 

DMPW 2 Outcome:

Learners will be able to implement a host of new styles and theories with the outcome of focused and effective leadership in the South African context.

Workshop Fee 2011:

The fee includes course material, light refreshments and a certificate of attendance. No VAT is charged. A 10% surcharge applies to late registrations.
