BCG is a privately owned firm with over 77 offices in 42 countries.  BCG’s Global Functions provide professional management services to the firm, including the central operations of finance, information technology, marketing, risk, legal, operations and human resources.   

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This is a business analysis position within BCG's Business Systems Group (BSG). The role of the BSG includes developing new and enhanced applications, as well as integrating and configuring third party software applications used by the Global HR, Finance Marketing and Legal functions. The BSG supports the Global Leadership team and the users by providing the firm with people and information to assist in managing the business.

 

The Business Analyst will play a key role in the definition, design and implementation of BCG’s world-wide recruiting technology platforms.  Systems will incorporate both vendor products and new custom development.  Working with the HR systems group, this person will work with the global Consulting Staff Recruiting function, IT, and select partners to define the scope of functionality, reports and UI design of new systems, plus assist with the transition from existing tools.  The Business Analyst will participate in all phases of system design and rollout, including requirements definition, system testing, user acceptance testing and user training.  The Analyst will need to coordinate with software vendors for system configuration changes and developers for custom tool creation and modifications.  This position will take direction from a Business Systems Manager.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Define

 

•              Develop expertise in vendor product capabilities, configuration capabilities, and the application of system features to recruiting business processes.

•              Establish system configuration requirements using interviews, design workshops, business process workflow designs, use cases, task and workflow analysis.

•              Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple partners, work with global Recruiting function to reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into relevant details, and work to distinguish user requests from business needs to deliver the following as needed: functional requirements, use cases, screen and interface designs, report specifications.

•              Drive and challenge the Recruiting function on assumptions of how they will successfully execute new processes.

•              Be the liaison between the Recruiting function and technology teams.

•              Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

•              Work with Recruiting function to test and implement changes based on enhancements.

•              Configure tools to match the needs of specific customers, use cases or workflows.

               

Test

•              Assist in documenting test cases to test system functionality, integration and reports.

•              Participate in system and user acceptance testing.

•              Document issues found during testing and post-release.

•              Work with IT to resolve system problems and verify fixes.

 

Transfer Knowledge

•              Assist in creating accompanying end user documentation and guides for use of system.

•              Train end users to provide understanding of system features and capabilities both virtually and in-person classroom settings.

·         User support, maintenance, documentation and training

 

The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for the day to day support, documentation and training for the system once implemented. This will require the following responsibilities

•              Act as system administrator to plan and manage application configuration changes and resolve end user issues

•              Actively monitor and track user support issues. 

•              Provide triage support to end users for complex and time-sensitive issues

•              Maintain end user documentation and guides for use of system.

•              Train end users to provide understanding of system features and capabilities both virtually and in-person classroom settings

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Experience:

•              Bachelors degree in related area.

•              4-6 years of experience in business and/or systems analysis

•              Power user with Microsoft Office products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.).

•              Functional understanding of relational database technologies

•              Subject matter expert in designing Recruiting processes, implementing recruiting system applications (Avature, ICIMS, Kenexa, Peoplefluent, Taleo, etc)

•              Strong analytical and business process design skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

•              Experience in documenting user requirements, creating use cases and detailed specifications.

•              Experience in creating and executing test cases.

•              Experience working with both end users and IT.
