We are seeing these days that with increasing, affluence and increasing awareness of the need for good education means that the market for quality education is going to grow. However keep in mind that as the market grows there will be more people apart from you who will be opening schools in Patna. So in order to survive competition- you should partner with the brand who will offer you the best curriculum and support.
For example -if you are taking part in a Car Race - would a choose the Cheapest offer and jump into the Maruti 800 (others) or pay a little more and choose the BMW (us!) ?
I have noticed desperate fly by night operators offering schemes like - no franchise fee or no royalties …. Nothing comes for free..the same players have found hidden ways to make money- e.g. you have to purchase overpriced goods, school step supplies, books, uniforms from them only, after 2-3 years you have a renewal fee…so in such cases the entrepreneurs find out much later how they were duped and then call us to convert to our brand. We have had a number of cases from other brands convert to our schools !
By then we had signed our franchise with someone else and it was too late…it is said

2. Have the best Academic R&D department in the Industry- The benefit of joining a brand owned by educationists is that the curriculum will undoubtedly be the MUCH MUCH better than businessmen who hire academics which come and go resulting in complete disruption of the academics - which form the backbone of any school system.
3. Offer Large territories to each school - We do not like to grow in numbers at the cost of our existing branches. By not opening branches closeby we compromise on the number of branches but each branch does well resulting in happy franchisees who are happy to pay.
4. Charge Low royalties : By have a model with one of the lowest royalties in the industry we ensure that we leave money for the franchisees. I have seen proposals of others who quote twice the royalties we charge and offer virtually nothing once the franchise is signed ! They have 2 reasons for the same
a.) So they can bargain and keep the franchisee feel that he got a good deal (which he did not and realizes later!)
b) Maximize royalties from each school
By offering low royalties we are not being foolish- it is just that by not extracting maximum money from our franchisees we keep them satisfied and as a result they recommend us to their friends, or they take up another franchise.. We’ve all read the story of the Hen who lay the golden egg haven’t we ?! ..something similar!
