Hi Friends!
I am excited to let you that I finally have a new release, "Never
Mistake". It was a long time coming, but no question, waiting to
have Kevin Paul's smooth, soulful, vocals on this recording was worth
it! You can hear the recording by going to www.reverbnation.com/karenburkhart
and clicking on "Never Mistake". The song should be available for
download at your favorite music retailers like "iTUNES" very
shortly.
I have shared the song with several DJs this week and have already
received a commitment from Inspirational Country Radio Programmer,
Ricky Russ, out of Abilene, TX, to begin playing it the week of
October 23, 2011. He loves the song and said, "it's a keeper!" That
is so exciting and reassuring to me--to know that the song's message
will be heard.
I have also shared the song with Gospel Music Association Canada's,
Leroy Harder, and he encouraged me to enter it into the "Cross-Canada
Song Search" competition, so I did. All competitors will receive
detailed reviews of their song by professional writers. I think the
feedback will be valuable, and if I make the finals, they will play my
song during their annual conference at the end of October.
Speaking of conferences, I'm off to Nashville on Monday to attend the
annual Inspirational Country Music Week. I am singing on Tuesday,
October 25 during the evening showcase where my all-time favorite
music group, Point of Grace, is the headliner. I'm giddy like a
school-girl, knowing that I will be able to meet them and maybe snap a
picture with them! :) I pray that my nerves will stay in check as I
perform in front of THEM!
On the home front, we are all well. We've had a family living with us
for the past 10 weeks and have been challenged in many ways, but we
are grateful for the lessons learned and the opportunity to make a
difference in their lives. I am so grateful for all that God has
provided us, not the least of which is his grace. It's only through
Him that we live and move and have our being!
