Dear friends,
We are forwarding this open letter from Liezel Asuncion, the wife of slain Bagong Alyansang Makabayan - Cavite coordinator and long-time labor leader Emmanuel "Manny" Asuncion, calling on Vice President Leni Robredo to reconsider her support for the mandate of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
Manny Asuncion was one of the nine individuals killed during the Bloody Sunday raids throughout the Southern Tagalog region last March 7, 2021. The Department of Justice’s Administrative Order No. 35 task force recommended last week the filing of murder complaints against 17 policemen involved in the raid that killed him.
