Karapatan, ACT for Peace, Pilgrims for Peace, Katribu, Agham and Kalikasan People's Network invite you to a forum on APRIL 27, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, entitled "UPHOLDING HUMAN RIGHTS AND INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW: THE RELEVANCE OF THE COMPREHENSIVE AGREEMENT ON THE RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AND IHL (CARHRIHL) IN THE PHILIPPINES."
The forum will be held at the Liwasang Diokno, Commission on Human Rights Compound, Diliman, Quezon City.
Featured speakers in the forum include the following:
👉 NDFP Negotiating Panel legal consultant Atty. Edre Olalia on the significance of CARHRIHL in the struggle for just and lasting peace in the Philippines, and the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of CARHRIHL
👉 Amirah Lidasan, Sandugo co-chairperson, on the violations of the CARHRIHL in rural communities
👉 Jommer Medina of the Pro-People Engineers and Leaders (PROPEL) on the State's use of drones and new technologies in the commission of IHL violations
👉 Atty. VJ Topacio, son slain NDFP peace consultants, on the killing of his parents and other war crimes committed by State forces and the need to continue to struggle for justice
