Farmers from Central Luzon trooping at Commission on Human Rights
Farmers from Central Luzon, who are part of the Central Luzon Kampuhan ng mga Magsasaka at the Department of Agrarian Reform, will troop to the CHR to call for a comprehensive and impartial investigation on the rights violations against farmers and peasants in the region since the time of Rodrigo Duterte, up to the present Marcos Jr. administration.
Peasants who have only called for aid during the pandemic, and those who continue their struggle for land and rights, have endured fhreats, harrasment, intimidation, illegal arrests, enforced disappearances, and killings of members and organizers of farmers groups, as well as advocates.
Representatives of the following organizations will join the trooping: Alyansa ng Manggagawang Bukid ng Asyenda Luisita (AMBALA), Malayang Kilusang Samahan ng Magsasaka ng Tinang (MAKISAMA-Tinang), Anunas United Farmers Settlers Descendants Association Inc. (AUFSDAI), Aguman dareng Maglalautang Capampangan (AMC), Samahan ng mga Magsasaka at Mangingisda sa Barangay Taltal (SAMMBAT), Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luson (AMGL), and Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP).
