After 3 passes your partner opens 2d. RHO passes. How should the bidding continue?

Or would you have opened the bidding?

I confess I would have opened - & prefer 1NT, rightly or wrongly!

Had I been required to take 2nd seat’s cards after he fainted ( or perhaps had a heart attack!), I would bid 2H constructive implying D fit…

It's a very nice Bailey 2-bid. We added these to or K-S understandings 20+ years ago. They fit nicely, and they come up more than twice as often as standard weak 2-bids. No hard data here, but our sense is that we average better than 63% with them. There are also occasions for negative inferences that have been useful.

About ½ of the pairs opened 1♡, and game was easily reached.

First, I'd call the director,  since I appear to have 14 cards (though I'm not certain I've sorted the ♣︎D correctly).

Assuming that "card" is removed from my hand, at 11.75. KnR it's not an opening bid in any form of KS(U).

I'd bid 2H over 2D. A 4th seat weak 2 (especially 2D) shows opening values. We might have game or a higher scoring partial.

Well, yes, but what do the bids mean after that?
