So what do you open if the Hearts and Clubs are reversed? If you open 1c then what do you bid over a 1S response from partner?

If I open 1d and rebid 2c after partner's 1s response, then that is strong in KS, so I open 1nt and hope for the best. ( wearing my flak jacket )

I would open 1C, intending to rebid 2C.

Goren’s rationale for rebidding 4-card suits was “It’s better to lie about a deuce than about a king."

Kaplan's advice was "Find your strongest four-card suit and pretend you have five."

If I were unwilling to do that I'd pass. It's well-suited to a later takeout double, though partner will not expect so strong a hand.

In my modified KS with an unbalanced D, i can open 1D and rebid 1N. 1N is defined as both minors, not strong enough for a reverse.
