If you've been following the activities of the Consumer Identity WG,
you'll recall that an electronic vote was
initiated on May 27 for approval of the
Proposed
Project
Plan
(v4) and
modified
Charter, followed by a reminder email on June 1. The deadline
for voting was June 3.
Of the 4 voting WG participants (not including myself, since I recused
myself from the vote), two returned a vote. Both were in favor of the
Project Plan.. Two other
non-voting participants also submitted votes in favor, but these votes
had
to be disqualified because the Kantara rules require that only votes
received from participants in voting status at the start of an
electronic ballot can be counted.
Since 3 YES votes were required, but only 2 were received, the proposed
Project Plan and modified Charter were not approved.
At this point, there seems to be no alternative but to suspend further
consideration of the Project Plan until some future date.
In the meantime, if any CIWG participant feels that there are other
activities that would be useful for the WG to pursue, and is willing to
actively lead such activities, please let me know.
