November 15 deadline

We have less than five weeks left until our deadline for signatures. We only need a total of 3,480 signatures of registered voters in KC MO, plus more for a buffer. 

The deadline was set to most comfortably see to it that we can get on the April 5, 2022 ballot. RCV is way more likely to pass if it goes on in April, with voters more likely to be familiar with it. We may still get on in April if we go past that deadline, and getting on the August ballot is still a possibility. But the less we allow to go wrong, the better. 

We're now paying $1 per good signature for those who want it

Signatures must be from registered voters in Kansas City, Missouri. We have the voter rolls and can check this. Payment will be made once we've verified the signers are registered voters. 

You would be working as an independent contractor - that is, we're paying for a service rather than employing you. We supply a 1099 form when payment gets to a certain level. This is self-employment income for tax purposes. 

This will include people working the polls in Clay County on November 2. 

There's a $20 - 20 signature minimum per person. 

Those gathering signatures don't need to be from KC MO - only the signers do. Kansas folks, folks from other towns, and even those too young to vote are welcome to participate. 

Those already trained and with packets of petitions are ready to go on this. If anyone needs the blank petitions, I can train you personally when you pick them up. Please call.

While elections are only happening in the Clay County part of Kansas City on November 2, this is far and away the best time to get good signatures. We know that practically all of the people coming out are in fact registered voters, and they're in a receptive civic-minded mood.

If any of you can give just that day, or a major part of that day, to standing outside a polling place there to get signatures, please contact me for details.
