Hi everyone,

Thanks to all those who attended Saturday to talk about missing values and do some R plot show and tell, and to all who weren't able to attend, you were set to NA.  : )

I have scheduled a different location for the next meeting, August 20th 2 to 3:30pm, at the Kansas City Public Library (Plaza Branch), in the large meeting room, which should have a projector built in. Anyone who wants to present, let me know.

This link might add it to your google calendar.

I'm not doing this on purpose, but I seem to be out of town only when the KC R group has meetings <g>.  I'll be gone again in August, but I'll try to be in town for the next one.

The following is more of a statistics topic than just R, but I recently found this an interesting article to estimate p-values -- perhaps this would be fun to discuss as a side topic some month:

Inference by eye: Reading the overlap of independent confidence intervals

Geoff Cumming, Statistics in Medicine, Vol 28, Issue 2, Jan. 2009.

Okay, everyone, looks like Nathan Stephens has been looking into
something called Google prediction API and suggested we discuss that
and R connections (ROracle, Rpgsql, RMySQL, etc.)

That sounds good to me... Earl, we'll catch you in October, hopefully!

Just to clarify, I'll bring some demos on Googlepredictionapi. The group is responsible for bringing what they know about the other connectors.  See you next month.
