Well, it turns out that you can't make a lot of money selling something that's as easy to produce as say lettuce or tobacco. The market is glutted, so prices of product are plummeting. And people are less and less willing to pay high prices for what is essentially a vegetable.
Hope that DF will fill us in on the rest.
BTW, the same would happen with the cocaine market. The product is as easy to produce as coffee. The high cost is due to "import fees". The only question is what the elasticity of the market is. DF can explain. But the cartels would really take a major hit to their profit margin.
