So the original article is in the Atlantic, can't post. It's under the title "The Men Who Want Women to Be Quiet".
It's worth the read. Why? Among other reasons this movement is making its way into the Republican mainstream. A pastor of a VERY small church has the ear of Pete Hegseth. Probably explains a LOT of Pete's crazy notions. It's also important because this toxic masculinity is more unifying among Republicans than almost any other issue. It animates a lot of their motivation. We really should become aware of this or just go along as they trample women's rights.

A growing movement called "masculinism" pushes back against feminism. Influencers, preachers, and politicians promote this ideology. They believe men should hold power. They argue women should live quiet, domestic lives, have fewer rights, and stay out of politics. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
The Rise of Masculinism
This movement argues that modern society has shamed men for acting like men. Proponents claim women are too empathetic and emotional. They blame women for society's problems. These men want to return to older traditions where a husband is the "head" of the house and women obey. [1, 2, 3]
For an inside look at how social media has helped normalize extreme anti-feminist viewpoints and masculinism:
Specific Goals of the Movement
Some figures in this movement have extreme goals. They want to take away a woman's right to vote, end no-fault divorce, and reduce women's pay. They view equality as a threat to traditional family life. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
For a comedian's take on the lighter, more personal side of wanting a partner who is simply quiet:
Would you like to explore how this movement impacts modern culture, or would you rather learn about how to identify and counter online misogyny?
