Before BK gets his panties any MORE twisted,, please know that I think that this was a real attempt to get Trump; and I don't condone it.
The article is about how rapidly conspiracies evolve to fill in the blank spaces before the truth comes out. News reporting used to take hours/days. Now it's essentially instantaneous. But initially it's incomplete. Hence the rapid emergence of conspiracy theories to fill in the gaps. Problem is that they're really hard to extinguish once they get a grip on social media.
Note that people from the entire political spectrum are putting forth their reasons to suspect that the shooting was a political stunt. Stupid is not confined to any one part of the political spectrum. Too bad that the truth has become such a fragile victim.
When it (the truth) finally emerges it will get less attention than the lies that have gone before it. It's so much less interesting.
One thing that drives the conspiracy theory is that Trump immediately went to talking about his ballroom and how this wouldn't have happened at his Big, Beautiful Ballroom. That's not proof of conspiracy; it's proof that Trump is an opportunist. He never lets a problem go to waste when it can be capitalized on.
