The second article is from the WSJ. Worth it if you can open. 

I don't think of the WSJ as anti-Trump in any fashion. So when they criticize Trump my conclusion is that there's some there there. 

These two articles explain how Trump is turning a supposedly winning hand- military superiority and and a decent claim to the moral high ground- into folding. 

We're spending close to a billion dollars and day and getting little for it. And the world is getting tired of the economic upheaval. 

BTW, Trump was TOLD ahead of time by a couple of advisors that this was a likely problem. But he listens to the clowniest clowns in the admin. So here we are.
