New York City passes rent freeze

Predictable problems ensue.

NYC has had rent stabilization for decades. Not sure why THIS particular ruling is supposed to suddenly be a deal breaker. 

Before this passed, NYC already had thousands of "ghost" apartments lying empty because rents can't cover costs. Maybe this  one makes headlines because of Mamdani.

Rent control is a great idea if you want to decrease the number of rentable living spaces per capita.
