So this is news to me. Hepatitis B is usually transmitted by the exchange of body fluids. Think sex and drugs. BUT, BUT the virus can live on a hard surface for days to weeks, also on toothbrushes, etc. So children can and have contracted the disease from such sources. And they have gone on the have complications like liver failure and liver cancer.
This is why the vaccine is currently recommended at birth. This prevents transmission from the mother 90% of the time. Childhood immunity is 98% effective.

Or as RFK likes to say, the risks are too great.
The guy is a fucking idiot. He knows nothing about what he's doing. He's just an ideologue who somehow has a fixed, and wrong, idea about vaccines. His actions will have a direct effect on vaccine compliance. But it will also cast a long shadow of doubt over vaccines in general, making them less utilized and thus less effective.
"You're doing a hell of a job Brownie".
One of the problems with RFK is that he has fixed notions about things; and no amount of established FACTS will persuade him to change his opinions. So as long as he holds his office things will worsen.
And people will get sick and die
