No charges. Not allowed legal counsel in private. Not allowed medical care without ICE presence
Can anyone count the USC violations here?
I've taken care of prisoners during my career, including men from Leavenworth. The guards stay out of the room during care.
I know that this is a  single case; but it shows that ICE is operating outside of the law. No reason to think that it doesn't happen on a regular basis.
He was in the hospital because ICE broke his leg.
This is NOT how the USA should be treating ANYONE on our soil, legally present or not.

The "USA" to which you are referring is currently on hiatus.

Where is BKK to ask if he is a citizen or not?

Dave, the point I hammer on is that it doesn't matter if he's a citizen or not. EVERYONE on US soil deserves the protections of the USC. People here illegally still have right to council; which includes attorney/client privilege. They also have the right to medical care compliant with HIPPA laws. Those don't disappear if someone is here illegally.
The doctors/nurses should be raising hell. A hospital administrator with balls should be raising a serious stink.
Every infraction of US law should cause a stink to be raised. Silence is acquiescence. Every act of acquiescence helps Trump continue his bloodless coup.

No,
Illegal aliens detained and deported under the legal process defined by Congress do not get to take every appeal all the way to the SC.
They don't have all the rights and privileges of citizens.
They are here illegally and the legal Congressional approved remedy is removal.

Why cite an article that is obviously a lie. He was only shackled to a hospital bed for a few days.

He ran from the police and broke his leg while attempting to go over a fence.
also
Rovidio Marin “has no legal basis for remaining in the United States, and he willingly admitted to ICE law enforcement that he was an illegal alien,” McLaughlin said. “At no point was he ‘interrogated.’ ICE officers did not prevent him from seeing his family or ... using the phone.”

I suppose it's hard for you to understand, but if a person is hospitalized for injuries sustained while attempting to flee the police then sometimes that delays the judicial process since he can't appear before a judge. I suspect as soon as he's healthy enough to leave the hospital he will be charged with crimes or simply deported.

But by all means twist the narrative to fit your agenda.

Be nice, even when you don't want to!

Fuck you is not sufficient here to illustrate your serious ignorance, Brian. Tell us EXACTLY how many prisoners that you have taken care of medically.
I'm going to guess (assume actually) that your number is ZERO, same as your IQ. I've taken care of several. They were from the federal  pen in Leavenworth. Real genuine BAD GUYS. They were US citizens. However, their guards stayed  OUTSIDE while care was given. The men still had the right to medical care privately administered.
So  once again, I don't have an agenda, other than to point out how this admin, and this ICE, violate people's rights. Plain and simple. Like you.

This is the answer to the question, "Do aliens have fewer rights?:

No, individuals in the U.S., regardless of immigration status, are afforded many of the same constitutional rights, such as due process and protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. However, they do have fewer rights in specific areas, such as certain political activities and access to some public benefits, and the government can enforce immigration laws and deport them.
Constitutional rights that apply to everyone
  • Due Process: All individuals, including undocumented immigrants, are entitled to fair treatment under the law and the right to defend themselves in court.
  • Fourth Amendment: Everyone is protected against unreasonable searches and seizures by the government.
  • Right to remain silent: Individuals have the right to remain silent if stopped by law enforcement.
  • Right to an attorney: Those who are arrested have the right to a government-appointed lawyer.
Areas where rights are limited
  • Political participation:
Undocumented immigrants are barred from participating in political campaigns, such as making campaign contributions.
  • Public benefits:
Access to some public benefits, such as certain healthcare coverage, is very limited.
  • Entry and residence:
The right to be in the country is considered a privilege that can be revoked, and deportation is a consequence for violating immigration laws.
None of this has anything to do with your bullshit business about appealing to the Supreme Court. There are a bazillion cases that can't be appealed to the SC. You know this. I haven't heard of but a small few murder cases that got that far. They are handled at the state level. The SC is supposed to hear cases that have repercussions regarding the USC. Or Trump.
I never suggested that the man in this case is a saint, or here legally. I did assert, correctly, that he had USC right violated. His admitting to being here illegally shouldn't matter. As for you quoting a statement that contradicts the article. consider your source. Is it any better than the article; or is just you advancing an "agenda".

So, Brian, I did a Google search in regards to Rovidio Marin and his situation. I got to page 5 of Google and haven't seen ONE article defending what ICE did. Also not one article disputing the facts. And then you CUT AND PASTE ( all caps because you don't like C&P, except apparently when you do it), a comment from Tricia McLaughlin. She is of course an ICE spokesperson. So we're supposed to believe HER over literally dozens of articles from outlets small and large. And now remind us who's deranged? We know for a fact that ICE spokespeople will always defend their actions. There hasn't been a violation of the USC that they've accepted responsibility for. not one, zero, nada. So anything that such a person says is totally predictable  in terms of content. Might as well be cited with "ibid" marks. Totally useless, unless you're living in Trump Derangement Bubble Land.
Please note that I spent a bit of time checking out who T.M. is and how much one should believe her. I did the legwork. You should do the same when we  present facts that you don't like. Do a little source work before just bashing what you find objectionable. It'll make you more credible and worth engaging in conversation.
