The author might be exaggerating a little when he says that these insulting plaques are a danger to our society. Instead I see them as an example of our coarsening of society's way of communicating. But when Trump does it, and posts it in the White House for all to see, he sends the message that it's okay to behave like this. And this message gets seen by kids. They learn by example, especially from authority figures. And Trump qualifies as such a figure, unqualified as he is for the role.
Another example of what LOW human being Trump continues to be. In issues small and large he fails ALL tests of decency.
One problem is that when a decent person becomes POTUS they'll take down the insulting plaques. But there's this deep desire to exact some degree of revenge with Trump's plaque. But then that would be low behavior too.
I guess at the end of the day it's hard to even the playing field in such situations.
Assholes gonna be assholes.
But I'm going to confidently suggest that no prior POTUS would stoop this low. Trump is sui generis in his level of depravity.
