The Islamofascist thinks that we are weak decadent and unwiling to do what is necessary to win. Of course they are half right if liberals had their way we would lose just to embarrass Trump.

What? Even Republicans are rapdily distancing themselves now from DT -- including Tucker Carlson, MTG, & Ron Johnson. There is no way DT continues this and makes the U.S. or the world better off for it. Why are you cheering for worldwide economic hardship that is surely going to be between significant and catastrophic at this point? How's the trucking business doing?

When have I not been in favor of getting rid of any Islamofascists? 

Were the people living in areas of Afghanistan not under Islamofascist control however temporary better off then than they are now?

Are the Arabs living in Israel better off or worse off than the Arabs living under Islamofascist rule in Gaza or Syria or Iraq or Iran?

 Islamofascism is as close to real Nazis in charge as you can get in this time. By no metric are they a good thing.

Brian, only a fucking idiot with little understanding of Iran's history think that we will change the gov't significantly. 

F.I. apparently includes YOU, Trump, and a bunch of really ignorant sycophants. 

A recent article made clear that Iran's gov't institutions prevail over individuals. Kill an Ayatollah, you get another. Kill a President, you get another. Kill a general..............

This is sort of like, oh, I don't know, the USA, or Great Britain or many other countries. The seats of power exist beyond specific  people. Unlike say Putin. Even China has a gov't that will function after Xi is gone. North Korea? Not so much. 

This is perhaps one of (many) of Trump's miscalculations. He thought, along with enough F.I.'s, that killing one person would change things. If Trump dies tomorrow or next week, the US gov't will continue to function. In fact, kill the whole cabinet and the gov't persists. 

But let's put this in terms that BK (might) understand. Talk about invading his house. We know his response. So let's say we threaten to invade his house. We want him to X, Y, Z or we're going to invade the house. He says "fuck off". We up the threat to severely damaging the house. Fuck off even more. We threaten to raze the house and turn it into rubble. Well, fuck off even more. Same with Iran. The main difference is that Iran is a culture that is 2500 years old. Very proud, very persistent, not prone to intimidation. Yes, they lost to the Greeks; but not because of being bullied with words. Actually, a short Google detour showed that the Greeks and Persians fought over many decades, with both sides winning many battles. Their conflict was likely settled by treaty (history not perfectly clear). The Persian empire wasn't destroyed by the Greeks, just booted out of Europe. 

Point is,  don't think that BK can be coaxed out of his house by bloviating. And Iran likely to behave the same. 

And I have been thinking of another issue. If Iran is so dangerous to Israel,, the US etc, and is in  possession of nuclear material, why haven't they sent dirty bombs to Tel Aviv? You don't even need a dirty bomb; just aerosolize a ton of uranium and spray it over the city. You could do it with a drone or even a suicide bomber. So either Iran doesn't have that much uranium, or they have some sense of limitation as to what they think is a good idea. Contaminating a place doesn't require highly refined uranium or necessarily a "bomb" to disperse it. Just something to consider when vilifying the Iranian leadership.

Dave, you're starting to sound more and more like G. BK seems to be getting under your skin more and more. 

Not blaming you; just observing things from my viewpoint. I agree that this absolutist approach to the Middle East doesn't get a lot done. 

Isn't Saudi Arabia Islamofascist by the usual metric? And recall, if that's possible, that they sent troops to fight Israel back in 1948. But we never talk about sending them back to the Stone Age. The UAE is a group of emirates. Doesn't sound particularly democratic. We bombed the shit out of Iraq; and Saddam wasn't really all that religious. He was a military dictator. Had nothing to do with being Muslim. 

Indonesia is 200 million people in a predominantly Muslim country. But they feign being a democracy,  pretty well at that. 

And then WE have Christian Nationalists, who aim to establish a Christian caliphate HERE. They are as dogmatic and anti-democratic as any Muslim. Have you seen Hegseth's tattoo's? He's got ink that pays homage to the Crusades. And his and Trump's words really call to mind this Christian/Muslim conflict. 

If someone came from another planet, I'm not sure that they'd see the clear superiority of the West, like BK and many others do. 

The world would be better off without Islamofacists, also Christian facists. Also just plain Muslims, Christians, and the whole bunch. 

But as things stand today, in real-world, things would be best if the combatants in this conflict would negotiate a detente. And things would be REALLY better if we built a million wind turbines and a 100K acres of solar panels and weaned ourselves off of Mideast oil. And that's been my stance for years. Stop using oil as the main source of energy. Then let the whole Middle East drink their oil and eat their sand. Problem solved. But we have Trump, MAGA, project 2025, the Koch Bros, etc. And they thrive on oil and they hate renewable energy. So there's that.
