So it turns out that social media use is as addictive as tobacco or alcohol; and that there are measurable harms. Good news is that cutting down can reverse a lot of the damage. That's true of tobacco use as well; as long as you haven't gotten cancer or a stroke.
So that said, does the gov't have a dog in this hunt? Tobacco use is only really regulated to prevent exposure to non-users. Same with alcohol.
So this is probably a situation that will require individuals to take care of themselves. So will the ruling awarding damages for addiction hold up?
