The best article is the WSJ under "what's really going on in Portland". Basically NOTHING.
The number of people at the ICE facility number <100 at any time. Violence is near ZERO. And for this the US military is warranted?
What a load of bullshit
I refer to the WSJ  because it's never been accused of anti-Trump bias; except by Trump.
There is also a local Portland station doing a live 24 video feed.

If you look at the available FACTS, and still think that military action is indicated, please explain. Until then, it looks exactly like I've said- a political stunt designed to give Trump an excuse to usurp power not assigned to him by law.
Chicago: rinse repeat.
Any other city Trump chooses; rinse, repeat.
Any red state city? Untouched. Rinse, repeat.

First you get your minions wary of a free press so that when you start your nefarious work, they doubt the only sources reporting them.

Then...you start your nefarious work. It's a REALLY simple plan, and it WORKS.

Just as Brian Kegerreis.....he'll tell you: Antifa is running amok in liberal cities and the US military is the ONLY force equipped to stop it....and any "media" reports to the contrary are liberal bias.

Voila!

Fear, nationalism, xenophobia....incredibly powerful tools for manipulation. Tried and true, and alive and kicking in 2025 'Murica.

Thank you G for speaking up. I thought my screeds might be falling on deaf ears. DF is speaking up too.
I'm glad that a fire is burning, or at least smoldering, around here.
The Portland, and Chicago, situations are serious "canaries in the coal mine". They are a harbinger of things to come. Neither city is worse off today than months a few years ago. But suddenly they're "war zones". The language is prelude to increasing presidential influence by employing powers designed to be employed in times of domestic "war". But there's no war here; just protesters who occasionally throw a brick or two. For this we do NOT need the National Guard or marines.
