Abraham drew intense criticism in office for instructing health officials to stop promoting vaccines including flu shots and instead emphasize personal choice and consulting with doctors. During a legislative hearing in December, Abraham said he regularly sees patients injured by coronavirus vaccines and alleged adverse reactions were being covered up, NPR reported. He has also supported research into an extensively debunked connection between vaccines and autism.
“It is understood that the products pushed will benefit some and cause harm to others, but public health pushes them anyway with a one-size-fits-all, collectivist mentality whose main objective is maximal compliance,” Abraham wrote.
He faulted the CDC and other public health agencies as having overreached in response to the covid pandemic, damaging public trust. “Government should admit the limitations of its role in people’s lives and pull back its tentacles from the practice of medicine,” he wrote.
Abraham also sparred with Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-Louisiana), a vocal proponent of vaccines, after the senator pushed him to issue a blanket prescription for coronavirus vaccines in response to residents struggling to get shots after federal officials narrowed approval. Abraham told the USA Today network that he does not recommend the shot to patients and prefers natural immunity. “We all need to stay in our own lane, and that includes Sen. Cassidy,” he told the news outlet.
He hits all the RFK highlights. Vaccines/autism. Natural immunity. But I like his mention of "Collective mentality". That's a dog whistle for communism/socialism. Nicely done.
In my imaginary debate with these "natural immunity" clowns, and I include Bill Maher here, I'd ask what they'd do if bitten by a potentially rabid animal. Natural immunity? It works; but you're dead. I bet every one of these clowns would take the vaccine. Same with a potential tetanus prone wound.
